Description

Have you ever wondered why the north tower of St. Stephan’s Cathedral is only about half as tall as the south tower and you always wanted to know why the Giant Gate is called that way, then this is the right tour for you.

The cornerstone of St. Stephan’s Cathedral was laid in the 12th century. And ever since it would seem as if our Steffl is a never ending building site. The ravages of time did not go by unnoticed and also environmental influences and damages are very visible. On this tour you learn more about the construction of one of the oldest catholic churches in the world, why Adolf Hitler wanted to destroy it completely and how the people of Vienna made it possible to rebuilt their beloved Steffl in no time after the Second World War.

If Steffl could talk, he would have a lot to tell. Let me be his voice.
